When watching any type of media, it is easy for a viewer form expectations based on past experiences. This can lead to feelings of dismay when a show doesn’t meet expectations. Cross Game is a shounen which shows that even a why not try here simple tale of love and baseball can be told with a an amazing ending.
The main characters in the show are all memorable from the four street sisters to Ko’s best friend Daiki. This small ensemble is what makes the show so memorable that they can bring a sense of personality and atmosphere to every scene they appear in. They are able to tackle themes such as love and death with ease and create an additional dimension than you’d expect from a standard shonen.
What makes Cross Game really stand out is the fact that it knows the best place to focus its attention. The characters are well developed, but there aren’t many dramas or surprises in every episode. This gives the viewer the opportunity to enjoy the relationship development without being distracted by the need to create emotional tension or a plot which is constantly trying to surprise the viewer with new twists and cliffhangers. Cross Game is a wonderful film as it avoids all of these issues. The genre could benefit from a lot more of this.
